WiFi Access
Sienna Branch Library provides free WiFi access to the public throughout the building. Contact the Adult Reference Department at Sienna for more information and connection instructions to use your personal laptop at the library.
Technology Classes
The staff of the Fort Bend County library system conducts entry-level classes on computer software, on a variable basis. Examples include “Microsoft Word Survival Basics” and “Mouse Practice for Scaredy-cats.” Classes are not available at all library locations. Computer Lab
Sienna Branch Library has a computer lab with 24 student computers and 1 instructor's computer, for training purposes. When the lab is not being used for training, it is open to the public.
Printing and Scanning
A SmartKiosk is available to add value to your library card for printing and copying while in the library.

Wireless Printing
Fort Bend County Libraries offers wireless-printing services for both patrons and library guests using personal electronic devices at most locations. Using the Library’s SmartALEC/Comprise printing system, people may send a print job from anywhere with an internet connection using their personal laptop, tablet, desktop, or mobile device to one of the listed Fort Bend County library locations.
Print size: Letter-size, plain paper only. Substitutions not allowed.

3D Printing
A 3D printer is available at this branch for use by anyone with a valid Fort Bend County Libraries card or a valid government-issued photo ID.
Patrons can bring print files in .stl format on a flash drive to the library. Library staff will be the ones to actually print the object. A fee of $0.20 per gram of filament used will be charged, with a $1.00 minimum.
Small items can take as little as 20 minutes to print, while other items can take much longer. Projects printed at the libraries have a 5-hour print time maximum. The 3D printers can print objects up to 8” wide x 8” high x 8” deep. Designs must be copyright-free or the patron must have license authorization.
You are not permitted to use FBCL's 3D printers to create material that is: prohibited by local, state or federal law, material that is unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others, including weapons.

Displays and Exhibits

Literacy and English as a Second Language
Literacy is important to community growth and an adaptable, diverse workforce. Partnering with the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, Sienna Branch Library provides facilities for persons wishing to learn to read or to learn English as a second language. Located in Missouri City, the Sienna Branch Library opened in April 2010, on a 4.5-acre site adjacent to Houston Community College Southwest – Missouri City (which later moved to a new site near the Missouri City Branch Library). A two-story, 45,000-square-foot building, the library is the second-largest branch in the Fort Bend County library system.
This branch was the first county library to be built in partnership with an educational institution. Houston Community College (HCC) wanted to establish a campus in the Sienna area of Missouri City, and Fort Bend County (FBC) wanted to build a library in the same general area. Officials from the county and HCC entered into talks to explore the practicality and cost benefit of sharing resources between the two groups, and a partnership agreement was reached for construction of a joint-use facility. The college purchased the property and donated a corner of it for the site of the library building, which was to be used by both Fort Bend County residents and HCC students. Special hours were established to allow earlier access to the building for students.
Sienna Branch Library opened with all the latest technology installed and with an opening collection developed for a diverse community. It was also the first county library to utilize Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) units in the checkout system. This feature is built into the outside and inside book drops, and enables items to be automatically checked in as they are returned in the book drop. Sienna also has six self-check machines with RFID technology.
HCC closed its Sienna campus at the end of the Spring 2016 semester. After the campus closed, Sienna Branch Library returned to standard branch hours and continues to offer full library services to the public.
