Fort Bend County Libraries offers wireless-printing services for both patrons and library guests using personal electronic devices at most locations. Using the Library’s SmartALEC/Comprise printing system, people may send a print job from anywhere with an internet connection using their personal laptop, tablet, desktop, or mobile device to one of the listed Fort Bend County library locations.
Print size: Letter-size, plain paper only. Substitutions not allowed.
Limit: 50 pages per job
Print costs:
- Black and White laser printer - $0.10 per page; $0.20 for double-sided
- Color printer - $1.00 per page; $2.00 for double-sided (even if all text and images are black)
The Library does not provide refunds. Users are strongly encouraged to only deposit enough funds to print the document.
Privacy is important to us. Documents submitted to print for in-person pick-up are automatically converted to PDF and deleted 48 hours after they are uploaded. Documents are not printed automatically. Pay for and print the document when you arrive at the Library.
The system is unable to selectively print individual pages from within a multi-page document. Users should only upload the pages they want printed. Staff cannot look up PIN numbers or printer ID numbers given to library guests. Be sure to have your login information provided in an email or text from SmartALEC/Comprise with you when you arrive at the Library.
Smart Kiosks may be used at the following locations to pay for and print wireless print jobs:
- Cinco Ranch (1st and 2nd floor)
- Fulshear (1st and 2nd floor)
- Mission Bend
- Missouri City (1st and 2nd floor)
- Sienna (2nd floor only)
- First Colony
- University (1st floor only)
Smart Kiosks may be used at the following locations to pay for print jobs. Users should then go to any Print Release station to print their wireless print jobs:
- George Memorial
- Sienna (1st floor only)
- Sugar Land
- University (2nd floor only)
Wireless print jobs may be paid for and printed at the Check-Out desk at the following locations:
- Mamie George (Stafford)
- Albert George (Needville)
Wireless printing not available at Pinnacle Senior Center or the Library Willie Melton Law Library.

- Log into the app with your library card number or printer ID number and PIN. The app will then accept your uploaded documents and associate them with your library account.
- Click "Allow" to let SmartALEC use your location to find nearby libraries.
