Program Description

Description

Welcome to 2024 Book Fest! We celebrate literature, creativity, storytelling, and more.  This year, our theme is "Myths and Legends."  We will be featuring an interview with our Fort Bend Community Reads pick, Stacey Swann, author of "Olympus, Texas." We will also be exhibiting local authors Tiffany Obeng, Taki Zyngtara, Monica Vidalon-Wolf, Susan Nwokedi, and Dee Osah in our exhibition hall.

There will also be exciting games and adventures for teens and kids.  In the Meeting Room, see if you can unravel the puzzles and mysteries in our Mythic Mayhem Escape Room!  There will also be a Kids Book Carnival full of games and activities in the Gallery.

Young Audiences of Houston will be presenting "Polynesian Storytelling" in the outdoor Amphitheater, who will demonstrate how Polynesians tell stories about their myths and legends through dance and music.

This program is generously sponsored by Friends of the Fort Bend County Libraries.
