Program Description

Description

Albert George Branch Library is celebrating 50 years of serving the community! The public is invited to enjoy light refreshments, activities, and giveaways. All are welcome to browse through the library’s scrapbooks and share their own memories.

Albert George Branch Library opened in November 1974, and was named for Fort Bend County philanthropist Albert George. The George Foundation funded construction of the original 4,900-square-foot library, designed by Wylie W. Vale & Associates. The land for the library site was donated by the Needville Chamber of Commerce and the Needville Lion's Club. In 1997, the branch was renovated with bond funds to include a new entrance, meeting room and restroom facilities, bringing the total square footage to 6,680.

Funds for this event are generously provided by the Friends of the Albert George Branch Library.
