Program Description

Description

Calmecac Indigenous Organization will perform Danza Azteca Esplendor at the George Memorial Library on Sept 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM. The inter-generational dance group educates on and carries Indigenous life ways throughout the year honoring the pre-Hispanic ingenuity and achievements of their ancestors, which included highly developed sciences and mastery of the arts. The danzas honor our relation to Mother Earth, reflect all the earth's elements, and teach respect for nature and all life. Calmecac Indigenous Organization celebrates the rich mosaic that is Hispanic heritage by bridging these traditions from past to present with integrity, ensuring their preservation for future generations.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the George Memorial Library.
