Program Description

Description

Join Jessica Laureano, Education Program Coordinator, with the YMCA International Services department for a program about U.S. Citizenship. Jessica has worked at YMCA International Services for 4 years and in Adult Education for at least 5 years. She currently teaches Citizenship to students who qualify to take the exam in their native language (Spanish), but she has taught citizenship students of different literacy levels. Jessica also works with USCIS to create the curriculum for our classes as a USCIS Grant recipient.

During this presentation, Jessica will go over citizenship benefits, review the United States Citizen and Immigration Services citizenship requirements and test exemptions. She will also review the civics program and challenges and barriers that are faced during this process.
