Description
Take a journey through the world of art along with the volunteers from Unite and Inspire, in collaboration with Fort Bend County Libraries! This art series covers the timeless creativity within impressionism, post impressionism, and pop art. Get an in-depth history lesson with experts—then try your hand at creating your own masterpiece! You will be provided with canvas, acrylic paint, and brushes to create your own painting in the class, and then take it home with you. Please wear clothes you will be comfortable getting paint upon.
In this session, we are studying Impressionism - An art style that became popular in the 1870s and 1880s. Impressionists used short brush strokes, realistic colors, and accurate depictions of light to create a lifelike impression of what the eye sees. We will be painting French Painter Monet 's "Japanese Bridge Over a Pond" 1899.
Registration is required—limited to 12 seats.
Generously sponsored by the Friends of the University Branch Library.
