Program Description

Description

Join us for a Family-History Research class, "The Story of Indianola" on Wednesday, May 14 from 10:30-11:30 am. Indianola was once a thriving port city that was even larger than Galveston. It was located in Matagorda Bay in Calhoun County. It began as a landing spot for early German immigrants into Texas. Unfortunately, the city was completely wiped out by two devastating hurricanes in 1875 & 1886. This lecture will discuss the fascinating history of Indianola from the beginning to the end. Class will take place in the Computer Lab at George Memorial Library in Richmond. Registration is required; sign up online or by calling 281-341-2608.
