Program Description

Description

Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library will host a free, live performance by the Churchill Fulshear High School’s Fulshear Jazz Project and the Leaman Junior High School Jazz Band on Monday, May 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, in the library’s Jodie E. Stavinoha Amphitheater, located at 1001 Golfview in Richmond.

Under the direction of Andrew Lee and Aaron Sanderson, the award-winning bands will perform an exciting line-up of swing, funk, and Latin jazz pieces.

The Fulshear Jazz Project was recently named Outstanding Ensemble at the Blinn Jazz Fest in Brenham, with stellar solo performances by soloists Mark Simmons on drums and Trei Parker on tenor sax.

The performance will be presented in an outdoor amphitheater, and seating is concrete. Theater-goers are encouraged to bring cushions to sit on. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages, and popcorn are not allowed in the amphitheater.
