Program Description

Description

In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Fort Bend County Libraries will host an introduction to Tai Chi. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline of meditative movements practiced as a system of exercises. It is a form of martial arts often practiced for defense training, health benefits, and meditation. In this interactive demonstration, members of the USA Tai Chi Academy will present introductory tai chi basics. Participants will learn simple forms of tai chi, which is often practiced for its health benefits and meditation. Discover how focusing on one’s balance can help a variety of issues, including arthritis. Those attending the class are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. All ages are welcome to attend, but participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
