Description
Learning to take care of personal finances can be overwhelming, so let the library provide guidance and advice to help understand how to manage money. Over the next several months, Janelle Johnson -- from the Fort Bend County Extension Program -- will cover: creating and maintaining a budget, credit management, introduction to credit cards, and different types of insurance. Registration is required; register online, in person, or by calling 281-342-4455.
January 15, at 4 pm: Budgeting 101. In this class, teens will learn how to create and stick to a budget by tracking income and expenses, prioritizing needs over wants, and saving for future goals.
February 19, at 4 pm: Credit Management. Students will learn how credit cards, loans, and credit scores work. They will also hear about strategies for using credit wisely while avoiding excessive debt.
March 19, at 4 pm: Introduction to Credit Cards. This class will delve more deeply into the use of credit cards. Students will learn how they work and how to avoid debt. They will also receive tips for using credit cards smartly and responsibly.
April 16, at 4 pm: Insurance Basics. Students will get an overview of insurance types -- including health, auto, and renters’ – and why they are an important part of financial planning.
