Program Description

Description

Join Mission Bend Branch Library in September for the 1,000 Origami Crane Challenge. We aim to fold and display 1,000 origami cranes in honor of the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2024.

In Japanese folklore, if you fold 1,000 cranes, you are granted a wish. In Japanese mythology, cranes are believed to live 1,000 years. These cranes are symbols for peace, good fortune, and longevity.

Recycled scrap paper and guidance will be provided. Patrons may bring in and drop off their completed cranes, which will be hung around the library.

This program is for students in grades 9 through 12.
