Senior Series is a series of conversations with local experts focused on the unique and complex housing related issues facing mature homeowners and their families.  This month’s topic is The Truth About Scams.

In today’s world, scammers are more sophisticated than ever, preying on seniors with tactics designed to exploit trust and vulnerability.  Join us to learn how to spot scams before they happen and how to protect yourself from financial and emotional harm.  Discover the most common scams targeting seniors; learn the psychological tricks that scammers use; understand the red flags to watch for in emails, phone calls, and unsolicited offers; get tips for protecting your personal information, finances, and identity; hear real-life stories from seniors who have encountered scams; learn how to report scams; and receive expert advice from fraud prevention specialists, law enforcement and legal professionals on staying vigilant and safe.  This seminar is designed to empower you with the knowledge and tools to outsmart scammers and protect yourself from financial exploitation, while fostering confidence in handling suspicious situations.  Liz McNeel, with Keller Williams Metropolitan and Founder of the Houston Senior Living Series will moderate a panel of experts in exploring this topic. This program is geared toward older adults and their family members. It is free and open to the public.  No registration required.
